METAIRIE (La.) To avoid complications from a hurricane heading towards New Orleans, the Saints and Cardinals will start seven hours earlier than they originally planned for Saturday's preseason finale.

The game will begin at 1 p.m. ET in the Caesars Superdome. The possibility of Tropical Storm Ida becoming a hurricane is possible. It will make landfall in southern Louisiana Sunday night.

The Saints made the announcement to make "proper and safe preparations regarding Hurricane Ida's potential landfall and after consultation and agreement with officials from the City of New Orleans, the National Weather Service and Homeland Security, and the NFL."

These kinds of adjustments are not new to the Saints. They had to evacuate New Orleans in 2005 for an entire season and have since moved their practices out of the city multiple times.

The Saints remained home last year when Hurricane Zeta struck New Orleans in October. Coaches and other team officials rode out the storm using generator power at the team facility.
