Cristiano Ronaldo agrees stunning Man United return

According to ESPN sources, Cristiano Ronaldo agreed to a sensational return at Manchester United. The club announced the deal on Friday in a 15million deal that could include an additional 8 million in add-ons.

After leaving Old Trafford in 2006 to join Real Madrid, the 36-year old will return to Old Trafford and sign a two year contract.

United shared a collage of Ronaldo's playing days with the club via Twitter, along with the words "Welcome back, @Cristiano."

United released a statement saying that it was happy to confirm with Juventus that Cristiano Ronaldo has been transferred to them. However, the agreement had to be negotiated regarding personal terms, visas, and medical.

Five-time Ballon d'Or Winner, "Cristiano" has won more than 30 major trophies in his career, including seven League titles in England, Spain, and Italy and the European Championship for Portugal.

"In his first spell at Manchester United, he scored goals in 292 matches. Everybody at the club is looking forward to Cristiano's return to Manchester.

Portugal's international left Real Madrid for Madrid in 2009, for a world record of 80 million. He will now return to Portugal.

ESPN reported that Ronaldo's representatives had begun to gather interest from top European clubs in June ahead of his possible departure from Juventus in the summer.

Manchester City was one of the potential clubs, but sources said that they have pulled out of this race.

Rio Ferdinand confirmed that he had spoken to his former United teammate and asked him not to transfer to the Etihad Stadium.

On Thursday night, talks began between Ronaldo and United as well as Juventus.

Ronaldo didn't train with Juventus on Friday and flew to Italy in a private plane. Massimiliano Allegri, the manager of Juventus, later confirmed that he had requested to leave the club prior to the Aug. 31 transfer deadline.

Ronaldo, who won league titles in England and Spain, is one of the most famous footballers in the world.

He has won five times the Champions League, four with Real Madrid and five times the Ballon d'Or. In 2008, he was the first United player to be named world player of year.
