Solskjaer stated that he didn't believe Cristiano would leave Juventus at a Friday news conference. "If he ever wishes to leave Juventus, he knows that we are here.

He is, for me, the greatest player of all times. We have communicated briefly and I believe Bruno [Fernandes] also spoke to me. There has been much speculation over the past few days.

Let's see how Cristiano does, he's a legend at this club. I was a coach and played with him. He is a remarkable human being. Let's see where Cristiano goes."

Pep Guardiola, City boss, said that Ronaldo is unlikely to move to the Etihad Stadium prior Tuesday's transfer deadline.

After Harry Kane's pledge to Tottenham Hotspur, City is exploring the possibility that Ronaldo could be signed.

Massimiliano Allegri, the manager of Juventus, said that Ronaldo had asked to leave but Guardiola doesn't believe he will be able to find a replacement striker before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Guardiola stated that he could not say more so Harry Kane announced continuing at his club as an exceptional club like Tottenham. Cristiano was a Juventus football player and I can add nothing else," Guardiola said during a news conference.

"Only I can tell you that there are three to four days remaining and anything could happen, but my personal opinion is that there are very few players, Ronaldo is also included, and [Lionel] Messi. They decide where they will play.

They are the ones who lead in negotiations, and that's my feeling right now. I'm more happy with the team I have, and I expect it to stay that way. We are extremely fortunate to have seen and enjoyed the two best players of the past 20-30 years.

"The Argentinian, Portuguese and Brazilian guys were outstanding in every club. We won't see anything like it in the future. I am extremely happy with the team I have. Except for Sergio, we are all the same team. Jack is our substitute.

"Messi chooses where he wants play. He decides to travel to Paris. These players decide. They are able to see the way. I can't control the outcome of these situations because it isn't my business."
