Disney Plus subscribers will be able to view the Queen of Mean on the service for no additional charge starting Friday.
After debuting simultaneously in theaters on May 28th and on Disneys Premier Access platform, the live-action origin story about Disney's Cruella de Vil will be available on Disneys Premier Access service tomorrow. To be able to access Premier Access films early, viewers typically pay an extra $30 for their monthly or annual subscription. Cruella will join Disney Plus starting this week.
Emma Stone is a star alongside a group of dogs, some real and others CGI, in this spin on Disney's animated One Hundred and One Dalmatians. The story is set in 1970s London, and Stone takes on fashion icon Baroness von Hellman. Stone's take on de Vil is quite different from the 1961 version. Don't expect a live-action remake. Stone instead presents a Joker-like take on Disney's infamous dog killer, which heavily relies on OG Cruellas love for the outrageous.
The story centers on Estella, a young girl who is later known as Cruella. Cruella has a flair for punk fashion in 1970s London. She teams up with two thieves and develops a wicked personality. She eventually becomes a revenge-hungry maniac with an exquisite taste in clothing. Stone looks amazing throughout the movie.
Disney seems to be working on Cruella, despite the film's absurdity. The Hollywood Reporter reported earlier this month that sources claimed Stone had secured an eight-figure payment for a Cruella 2 sequel. However, details about the project's status and when it will be released are still being kept under wraps.
