Time to take the 2026 World Cup out of Mexico

It is probably time to take the 2026 World Cup out of Mexico.
Fans of Mexico soccer held the MLS-LIga MX All-Star Game in Los Angeles, thanks to the homophobic chant that they can't stop repeating. They also held up games at the Olympic qualifying. They also held up games during the CONCACAF Nations League. They also held up games during Gold Cup. It doesn't stop. It never stops.

FIFA has reduced the cowardice CONCACAF had shown Mexico by reducing two games that were played behind closed doors during World Cup qualification to one. It was a punishment that CONCACAF had threatened to dump on the Mexican women's team. This is a sign of how serious the world's governing body takes this.

I can hear the rain falling on me, and I'm screaming.

Ten minutes of holding games up has not done anything. Mexico has forfeited a match because no ref moved to pull players off the field. These are the steps. However, it is the protocol for one match. There is no protocol that can be used for multiple matches. Mexico fans were able to hold up the final and semifinal of the Nations League, and they are considered separate offenses. We had to hold on for a mere 10 minutes at the MLS All-Star match.

It's not fair. You can either expel them from the 2022 World Cup or take them off the hosting duties in 2026. It's not like Canada and the U.S. can't host it without Mexico. It will be hypocritical to have Mexico cancel one of these World Cups, while Qatar has one, but it is a start.

I won't hold my breath. But, you either are serious or not.
