Juventus has told Cristiano Ronaldo that they will sell him this summer, but only on their terms.

Portugal forward Ronaldo (36), still has one year on his contract.

His future has come under increasing scrutiny. He was not included in the starting lineup for the club's first Serie A match against Udinese.

Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo's agent, has spoken with several European clubs about the possibility of signing him.

Mendes was summoned to Juventus’ training ground on Thursday, according to reports. He met with vice-president Pavel Nedved and chief executive Maurizio Arrivabene, as well as Federico Cherubini, the sporting director.

Mendes was informed that all scenarios were possible for Ronaldo but that Juventus wouldn't sanction the departure from a player they signed for 99.2m 3 years ago if there was no transfer fee.

Ronaldo is well-known for being frustrated by the outcome of his move from Real Madrid to Juventus.

The Italian giants are not competing for the Champions League. Since Ronaldo's arrival, they have failed to reach the quarter-finals and were beaten in 16 of the past two seasons.

They lost their Serie A title to Inter Milan last season after having won it for nine consecutive years.
