NASHVILLE (Tenn.) -- The Tennessee Titans have put quarterback Ryan Tannehill on their reserve/COVID-19 roster.
Tannehill is currently vaccinated and will be out of action for five to ten days depending on whether he can perform two negative tests in 48 hours. In Week 1, the Titans will host the Arizona Cardinals on Sept. 12.
Jon Robinson, Titans general manager, stated Thursday that Ryan is feeling good and feeling well. He'll be fully engaged during the meetings. He is ready to go. He is a professional and has been playing in the league for many years. We have complete faith in him and his ability as a coach.
Tannehill stated that he was in the process of being vaccinated when training camp began. Tannehill stated at the time that he would not have received the vaccine, but that the NFL is "forcing" players to get it by creating protocols.
The Titans placed seven players on their reserve list after visiting Tampa, Florida for joint practice with the Buccaneers. Coach Mike Vrabel was also positive for COVID-19 Sunday. Along with Tannehill, Geoff Swaim, a tight end, and Justin March-Lillard as a linebacker were added to the reserve list.
Ryan Succop (former Titans kicker) was tested positive for COVID-19 Monday and was made a Buccaneer member. Succop was in Tampa with three Titans players. None of the Titans players present at the dinner tested positive.
Robinson said that Robinson had followed all protocols and noted that the Titans have approximately 97% to 98% vaccinations. "Our medical team has done a great job talking to the league, players, coaches. Coach Vrabel has experienced minimal symptoms."
Other Titans players who are on the reserve list include defensive tackle Anthony Rush, runningback Jeremy McNichols, and linebackers Nick Dzubnar (Harold Landry).
