F9 was filmed in Imax this year. This was the first footage of next years Jurassic World. The film begins 65 million years ago, at the moment when a certain mosquito is caught in amber. This sets up everything that follows. The next five movies were followed by more, with this sixth bringing them all together. Universal Pictures closed CinemaCon 2021 with new footage from its upcoming film. It opens June 10, 2022. This footage was even more detailed than the IMAX preview, which gave a glimpse into the world of Jurassic post Fallen Kingdom.

Here's a disclaimer. It took around 90 seconds to capture the footage and it would have been impossible for me to show you all that was there. I'll try to give you the highlights, but suffice it to say that it was very fast and I missed quite a few. My apologies.
The first photo was of a brachiosaurus pair being led by several vehicles in a snow-covered quarry. Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), riding a motorcycle, tries to track down some dinosaurs. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), trapped in a cage that is reminiscent of the one at the beginning of the film, are shown. Water is pouring in. A shot was taken of her in a brightly lit lab. Jurassic World's mosasaurus jumps from the water to eat. A dilophosaurus shouts and releases his hair. Of course, the T-Rex can be seen running wild. A flare is seen being held by someone. A triceratops is seen smashing into a Jeep. Images of Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), then shots of both series stars looking up at something. This is reminiscent of the lighting effects from the T-Rex attacks in the first film.
Most striking were scenes that looked like they were in a European city. Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard), is seen jumping between buildings as she's being chased down by a velociraptor. Claire and Owen Grady jump down into an ancient tomb. Then, Grady again riding a motorcycle through cobblestone streets, following what was likely a raptor. It looked a lot like Indiana Jones, Jason Bourne and James Bond action scenes, except with dinosaurs.
It was truly amazing. I wish I could have captured it with my eyes so you could see every detail. But, alas, this is all I can do. There was much more. I expect to see more of this in the months ahead. Colin Trevorrow, the director of the film, said that the film would answer the question: "If dinosaurs were among us, will we be safe?" The answer to that question is no. We will be able to see his plans for next summer when Jurassic World Dominion opens in theaters.
