An Oklahoma governor candidate is accused of kidnapping and raping a woman who applied to work for his campaign, police say

Paul Tay was an independent candidate for Oklahoma governor and was taken into custody in Tulsa Monday.

He is accused of kidnapping a woman who applied for work in his campaign and raping her.

He is facing first-degree rape and kidnapping charges.

According to the Tulsa Police Department, an independent candidate for Oklahoma governor was accused of kidnapping a woman who applied for work for him campaign.

Paul Tay (58), was taken into custody on Monday. He is facing charges of kidnapping and first-degree sexual assault, as well as kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon.

Tay was contacted by police to report that the victim had met Tay after she responded to a Craigslist ad for a job on Tay’s campaign team. The ad also included a request to stay at a hotel.

According to the victim, Tay picked her up in Bethany (OK), but she claimed that she tried to get out of his car when she learned that Tay was driving her from Oklahoma City to Tulsa.

According to police, Tay hit the woman with a pipe before sexually assaulting her. He then took her to his home.

Police said that Tay tried to have sex at Tay's home with the victim, and then sexually assaulted/raped him with a pipe.

According to police, Tay convinced Tay on Monday to take her to Walmart where she could seek assistance from an employee.

Police said that Tay was later arrested in the Walmart parking lot.
