One company was given the task of building the life support systems for the station.
Moonraker?
According to SpaceNews, Collins Aerospace is a subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies and a military and aerospace contractor. It works on life support and environmental control technologies for a private, privately owned, low-Earth orbit outpost.
Space is a lucrative market and there are a lot of people investing in it. A mysterious customer awarded the $2.6 million contract to this small company. This is a clear sign that space commerce is on the rise.
Life Support
SpaceNews reports that the Collins work contains machines that can control temperature and pressure in space, allowing for prolonged human presence.
This subsidiary already has a lot of experience. It is actually behind the International Space Stations water recovery system.

SpaceNews was told by Shawn Macleod (Collins Aerospaces director for business development), that the demand for life support systems is likely to increase as more destinations are made available in the private sector.
Are You Axiom?
SpaceNews analysis shows that there is a non-zero probability that the contractor unidentified is Axiom Space. SpaceNews analysis shows that the Houston-based space company, privately funded, is planning to build its own commercial space station.
In January, SpaceX Crew Dragon was announced as the crew of the first ever private mission to orbit.
It is not clear if AxiomSpace is behind Collins' contract. SpaceNews reached out to the company for comment.
