Mark-Cuban is investing in a startup that uses AI to create 'intelligent' NFTs that can talk

Alethea raised $16 Million through a restricted token sale.

Users can embed AI animation, interaction and voice synthesis in NFTs, according to the firm.

Alethea AI is a startup that creates "intelligent" tokens that can be used to communicate with people. Mark Cuban is just one of many notable investors.

The company announced Wednesday that it had raised $16million through a restricted token sale and private sale. Other than Cuban, Alethea also has Multicoin and Alameda investors, as well as Dapper Labs (the firm behind NBA TopShot).

Alethea allows users embed AI animation, voice synthesizer, and interaction in NFTs.

The slogan at the top of the company's website reads, "Give your NFT superpowers."

Cuban stated that NFTs are still exciting and a great way to collect them, but Alethea AI has combined AI Powered Avatars with NFTs on-chain. The result is entertaining and fun, as well as a foundation for interactivity that will rapidly advance using Alethea technologies.

Alethea's first "intelligent NFT", Alice, was sold to Sotheby's in June for almost $478,000. Before the sale, the intelligent NFT appeared in a Twitter Live video and answered viewers' questions in real-time.

The company stated that iNFTs were "intelligent, scalable, generative and interactive" and had access to networked intelligence via Alethea's protocol. "Alethea’s protocol provides creators around the globe a mechanism for creating interactive and intelligent NFTs. It also allows them to build communities around their favourite characters and to democratize access powerful Synthetic Media tools.
