Lyanco represented Serbia and Brazil in age-group internationals
Southampton has signed Lyanco, a Brazilian defender from Torino, on a four year deal.
The 24-year old has played previously for Botafogo and Sao Paulo before moving to Bologna.
Lyanco, also of Serbian origin, was a player for the Serbia U19s, before moving to Brazil at U20/U23 level.
He is the latest Southampton signing in a busy transfer window that also saw Romain Perraud, Theo Walcott and Adam Armstrong sign.
He said, "I'm very glad to be here." "It's a dream I have had ever since I began playing football as a kid to play for the Premier League and for a team such as a Southampton.
It's a dream for me and my entire family.
"I was born in Brazil, and football is very different there. When I moved to Italy, I realized that tactics are more important than strategy. My dream was to play in a Premier League and play strong soccer, which is why English football is my favorite.
