Ghostbusters: Afterlife Early Reactions Call It 'Nostalgia Done Right'

After Ghostbusters: Afterlife finally has its first screening, the film's viewers are now in heaven. According to various critics who saw Jason Reitman's sequel to his beloved 1984 film, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, they seem to have a lot to praise the film. Some of them are actually swooning after seeing Afterlife. It almost seems like...busting makes them feel good.

These early reactions can be interpreted as positive news, regardless of whether you are excited for the film or still unsure. First, here's Germain Lussier who said that the film's flaws did not affect his enjoyment.

Lauren Huff, Entertainment Weeklys reporter, said that the film was a great mix of nostalgia as well as a new stand-alone story. This sentiment was echoed by many critics in their reactions.

Scott Menzel, the founder of the Hollywood Critics Association, and clearly a big fan of the original Ghostbusters was even more enthusiastic in his praises:

It was praised by many other critics (large and small) who couldn't stop praising it (due to the 140 character limit on Twitter). All in all, things look very promising for both old Ghostbusters fans as well as young Ghostbusters fan-to-be.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife tells the story of a family that moves to a small town to discover a connection to Ghostbusters. The movie stars Carrie Coon and Finn Wolfhard as well as Paul Rudd and original cast members Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd as well as Sigourney Weber, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts. The movie will finally debut in theaters on November 11, after many delays.
