Facebook's 128GB Oculus Quest 2 model is now available for purchase, following its announcement last month. The VR headset can be purchased on the company's website at the same $299 as the 64GB base model. The short version? Facebook claims that the 128GB model was created so that users can store and access more apps and games on one device.
Facebook announced the 128GB model while it also issued a voluntary recall for the Quest 2 due to an issue with its original face insert. For a period of about a month, the company stopped selling the Quest 2 so it could insert a new silicone cover in each box. You can request Facebook to send the new silicone cover to Quest 2 owners by going to the My Devices section in your account settings. The silicone cover is also included in the new 128GB model.
