Antonio Conte, former Blues manager, signed Zappacosta for Chelsea
Davide Zappacosta, an Italian right-back, has left Chelsea to join Atalanta in Serie A.
Atalanta's 29-year old was there before moving to Torino, 2015, and signing for Chelsea in 2017.
Zappacosta played 26 league games for the Stamford Bridge club, scoring once.
He was a substitute in the Europa League final victory over Arsenal in 2019. He has been on loan to Genoa and Roma since then.
Chelsea claimed that Thomas Tuchel, the external-link boss, had allowed Zappacosta's departure with Cesar Azpilicueta (previously) and Reece James (previously).
