NASA Canceled Spacewalk Because Astronaut Had Pinched Nerve

Finally, we know what actually happened.
Pinched Nerve

NASA announced yesterday that Mark Vande Hei (a current crew member aboard the International Space Station) had a minor medical problem that delayed Tuesday's scheduled spacewalk.

Futurisms requested no comment from NASA. However, Vande Hei, the man who claimed the issue was not a medical emergency, finally responded via Twitter. He said the issue was just a pinched nerve, reminding us that even veterans astronauts are human beings and have to deal with their own health issues in space.

Thank you for your concern. Today's spacewalk was canceled due to a pinched nerve in the neck. NASA leadership and family have been tremendous in their support. I am looking forward to installing the IROSA Mod Kit. Today was not the right time. https://t.co/srGT9GQfCm Mark T. Vande Hei (@Astro_Sabot) August 24, 2021

Expect delays

NASA stated that it does not sound like a serious injury.

The 54-year old former US Army Officer tweeted today to thank everyone for their concern. Today's spacewalk was canceled due to a pinched nerve in the neck.

He's not the only one.

He said that NASA leadership, family and friends have been a tremendous support.

NASA had to cancel the spacewalk with Japanese astronaut AkihikoHoshide due to nerve pain. It was planned to attach a bracket to the ISS's massive new solar wings.
