LSU President William F. Tate IV stated that "As the most important institution in Louisiana, we have the primary responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, supporters, community, and the entire state." We are fully aware of the many perspectives on masks and vaccinations in the country, and we must take every precaution to ensure the safety of our campus and community. This includes not just during gamedays but also after guests leave Tiger Stadium. COVID-19 poses a threat to our health and lives as well as our medical system. We must take action to stop it from spreading.
Fans who have had one shot of either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines must show a negative PCR test within 72 hours.
Scott Woodward, LSU director for athletics, stated in a statement that "we have the best fans of college football" and added that they are doing all they can to make their experience at Tiger Stadium this fall safe and enjoyable. We will ensure that our fans can cheer on the Tigers on Saturdays with confidence knowing that we have taken steps to reduce their health risks. We are proud of our football team for reaching 99.1% vaccination. We are certain that our Tiger fans will follow their lead and get vaccinated today.
