Uncharted, directed and produced by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland & Venom), will be released February 18, 2022. Holland portrays Nathan Drake, an adventurer and explorer who is loosely adapted from the video game franchise. Mark Wahlberg plays his mentor Sully, and that's all we know about this movie. We were able to see a few scenes as part of Sony's CinemaCon 2021 panel. We think they will make fans happy.

Sully was dressed in a suit and sat down with Drake, asking if he would like to see things that he'd only read about in books. This film is set in the early days of Drake's adventure-related career. This led to some shots that were immediately recognizable from the gamesone looked almost exactly like Uncharted 4 : A Thiefs Ende. Drake is seen standing in a dark cave filled with water and a pirate ship at its end. The next shot shows him riding a plane and becoming entangled in a large piece of cargo before being yanked up into the air. As Drake tries to save himself and grab something, the camera follows him in free fall. This setup is from Uncharted 3 Drakes Deception.

What does this tell us about Uncharted's story? It's not much. However, there are some memorable scenes from at most two video games. This lets us know that this isn't a direct adaptation of Nathan Drakes story. Fans will appreciate seeing a few nods. Uncharted, which also stars Antonio Banderas will open next year.
