Antonio scored his 49th and 48th Premier League goals for Hammers
In a dominant win for West Ham over 10-man Leicester City at London Stadium, Michail Antonio was West Ham's top scorer in Premier League.
After breaking Paolo di Canio’s club record, Antonio lifted a cardboard cut of himself to celebrate his 48th top flight goal.
Four minutes later, the 31-year old added another to complete an impressive win for David Moyes.
This is the second win for the Hammers in a Premier League campaign.
Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals scored West Ham's first goals, either side Ayoze Perez being dismissed for a stamp against goalscorer Fornals.
Youri Tielemans briefly gave hope to the visitors at 2-1, before Antonio's late double.
Antonio shines while Foxes get hammered
Michail Antonio scored three goals in Premier League games this season
Only Manchester City and Manchester United were able to score more away from home points than Leicester in the Premier League last year, while the Foxes were outplayed on their first road game in the new campaign.
Brendan Rodgers was mildly blunt when he stated that his team were "very light at the back" in his prematch interview. Jannik Vestergaard joined Wesley Fofana and James Justin on the sidelines, along with Jonny Evans, Ryan Bertrand and Nampalys Menedy.
On 26 minutes, West Ham broke through the Foxes' defense and scored Fornals' third goal in three league games.
After a quick one-two on Benrahma's left, the Spaniard continued his run into the box and swept past Kasper Schmeichel from 10 yards.
Leicester's night turned sour 15 minutes later, when Perez was sent to the stands for stamping on Fornals ankle while he tried to return the ball from a challenge with Aaron Cresswell.
Referee Michael Oliver issued the red card after allowing play to continue at first. He had consulted with VAR officials and viewed a replay. This is the Spaniard’s first red card in English football after his 274th match.
Caglar Soyuncu's defense was not sufficient to stop West Ham's second goal. The Turkey international's backpass was too sloppy and was intercepted in the end by Antonio. Antonio crossed for Benrahma, who fired past Schmeichel at 12 yards.
Antonio was level with Di Canio thanks to his strike at Newcastle in West Ham’s season opener. But it looked as though he would have had to wait for his moment, as he watched five of his chances go begging.
After defending Soyuncu's box from Declan Rice, Antonio turned his back and found the bottom corner.
He was not done yet. Antonio finished off an almost perfect evening with a flick of the ball over two Leicester defenders before beating them both on turn and stabbing past Schmeichel.
After losing out by two points on the top four last season, West Ham begin the new campaign with optimism and end the day at the top of the Premier League for only the second time.
