Apple Store Purchases Made With Apple Pay in U.S. Will Support the National Park Foundation This Week

Apple today announced it would make an unspecified donation at the National Park Foundation for every qualifying Apple Pay purchase made in an Apple Store, Apple.com or Apple Store app in the United States between August 23 and August 29.

According to Apple's fine print, the promotion is restricted to the first 100,000 transactions.

This promotion is Apple's fifth consecutive year supporting the National Park Foundation, which is the official charity partner of the National Park Service. Apple CEO Cook expressed appreciation for national parks in an interview last summer. He said that Apple Park had conference rooms named after U.S. parks such as the Grand Canyon Room near his office.

Apple Watch users can earn an Activity Challenge award based on national parks. They must complete a walk, run, wheelchair or run of at least 1.6 kilometers.

All U.S. National Parks that have an entry fee will be offering free admission on August 25 to celebrate the National Park Service's Birthday.
