Luckey said that Gaetz and Luckey met at the Mar-a-Lago Club, Palm Beach, Florida in March 2020.
Gaetz is currently being investigated by federal authorities for multiple sex-related crimes in several states.
Sergio Gor, a former Rand Paul employee, officiated at the ceremony.

Luckey is 26, a biotech company analyst at Apeel Sciences. She is also the sister of Palmer Luckey (founder of Oculus VR on Facebook), who hosted and supported fundraisers for President Donald Trump. Luckey said that she met Gaetz at Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club, Palm Beach, Florida in March 2020. They eventually became engaged 10 months later.
After a few campaign stops in Midwest with US Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Gaetz and Luckey were married in a small ceremony at Catalina Island just 22 miles from the coast of Southern California. Vanity Fair reported.
A few dozen people attended the event, including Sergio Gor (ex-Rand Paul staffer), who was both the officiant as well as the DJ. According to Vanity Fair, Palmer Luckey, his wife and "Bannon's War Room" hosts Rahem Kassam, Natalie Winters and Nestor Galban were among the other attendees.
Gaetz, a Republican, has been representing Florida's 1st Congressional District from 2017 to 2017. He is currently under investigation as part of a sex-trafficking probe with his former right-handman, Joel Greenberg. According to the New York Times, the investigation focuses on Gaetz's interactions with multiple women who were recruited online and paid cash in exchange for sex.
Greenberg was charged with 33 criminal offenses and pleaded guilty in May to six felony charges of sex traficking, wire fraud and identity theft.
Gaetz denied any wrongdoing, and has not been charged.
