A man in his 40s fell to his death at an NYC concert after he 'attempted a body flip,' police say

According to The New York Daily News, a man died after trying to turn at a rock concert.

The incident occurred at Citi Field in Queens on Friday night, just after 9 p.m.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital and declared dead.

According to police sources, a man died after trying to flip from a balcony at a New York City rock concert on Friday night.

At around 9 p.m., the incident occurred at a Dead & Company concert at Citi Field in Queens. According to a police source, the man "attempted a body turn, fell and landed on the balcony beneath," adding that concrete was the ground.

Sean Egan, a witness at the concert, said to the New York Post that he witnessed someone fall from the ledge. "We saw something fall and we heard him hitting the ground."

The Post was told by a driver that he saw the concert goer "hit the ground head-first." According to the outlet the man fell about 30-50 feet.

According to Insider, a spokesperson for the New York Police Department stated that the injuries sustained by the man were consistent with "a fall from an elevated place".

The spokesperson stated that the male was taken in critical condition to New York Presbyterian Hospital – Queens. He was then pronounced dead.

According to police, the man seemed to be drunk and they don't believe the incident was a suicide attempt.

Police are currently investigating and told Insider that the identity of the 46 year-old man was "pending family notification."
