In October 2020, it was announced that a Green Lantern Corps series had been greenlit. EW reports that the series will be coming to HBO max from Greg Berlanti (the King) and showrunner Seth Graham Smith. Marc Guggenheim is writing and executive producing. Guggenheim, Smith, Berlanti and Smith are the executive producers. Sarah Schechter and David Madden are also producing. Elizabeth Hunter and Sara Saedi will co-executive produce.
The show will feature many Green Lantern Corps members, including Jessica Cruz (Jeremy Irvine), Guy Gardner, Finn Wittrock, Simon Baz, and Jessica Cruz (Finn Wittrock). There are also two other characters that have yet to be cast. Wittrock explained that the show was very epic and would have something for everyone when he spoke to EW.
He is clearly excited about the series and has many positive comments. He said, "It is amazing how vast and complex it is." It's quite epic. It spans both time and space, and offers something for everyone. It's not your typical superhero story. Guy Gardner also spoke about Guy Gardner's character and described him as a massive mass of masculinity and an embodiment 1980s hyper-patriotism.
The show will be set in both time and space starting in 1941. Wittrocks Guy Gardner, a half-alien character and fellow Lantern Bree Jarta will be featured in the 1980s. Wittrock says: He is involved in a lot of the show. He plays a significant role in it. It's an interesting way to get [into the story]. Although it is not the traditional way to get in, I believe people may see a side of him that they didn't know existed.
The series' release date and production start date are unknown. Keep checking back for more details.
