A woman gave birth to a baby girl aboard a US Air Force evacuation flight from Afghanistan

According to the Air Force, a woman gave birth on Saturday aboard an Afghan evacuation flight.

When the woman gave birth, the pilot descended to a lower altitude and suffered complications.

After the plane landed at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, it gave birth to a girl.

According to a series tweets by the US Air Force's Air Mobility Command, a mother gave birth on Saturday aboard an Afghan evacuation flight.

According to the Air Force the woman became pregnant and started having complications while on her flight from the Middle East to Ramstein Air Base in Germany.

According to the tweet, the pilot decided to descend to a lower altitude in order to "increase the air pressure inside the aircraft, which helped stabilize the mother's life"

According to the Air Force, Airmen from 86th Medical Group boarded and delivered the baby after landing in Germany.

According to the tweet, the mother and baby were taken to a nearby hospital and are now in good health.

Since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, thousands of Americans and holders of US visas have been forced to flee the country.

According to Military.com, most have been transferred to Middle Eastern countries like Qatar where they are awaiting transfer to Ramstein and then the US.

Brig. According to Gen. Josh Olson, Ramstein can accommodate 5,000 people. However, they are currently building additional facilities to accommodate up to 7,500 people by Sunday night.
