Civil rights leader Rev Jesse Jackson and his wife have both been admitted to hospital with COVID-19

After testing positive for COVID-19, Rev Jessie Jackson was taken to hospital with his wife.
According to a statement, the couple is currently being treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

In January, the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine was given to the civil rights leader.

According to his representatives, Rev Jesse Jackson (the famed civil rights leader, two-time presidential candidate) and his wife were admitted to hospital after they tested positive for COVID-19.

Jackson, 79, is being treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago with his wife Jacqueline Brown (77), according to a statement from his non-profit organization, Rainbow PUSH Coalition.

The statement signed by the son of the couple reads: "Doctors are currently monitoring both the condition of the two,"

It continued, "There are no more updates at the moment." "We will update as soon as they become available."

NPR reported that Jackson was given the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination in January. Jackson received his first dose in a well-publicized event that encouraged Black people to get vaccinated.

Bernice King is the daughter of Martin Luther King's mentor Jackson. She tweeted that she was praying for the couple Saturday night.
