Two Florida mothers lost their sons to COVID-19 in 12 hours after failing to get vaccinated.
News4Jax's Lisa Brandon said that she contracted COVID-19 with her sons Aaron Jaggi (35), and Free Jaggi (41), who live with her.
Although Brandon was able to recover, her two sons became worse. They were both hospitalized and placed on ventilators when they developed double pneumonia. His brother, Free, died just hours later on August 12.
Their mom is now speaking out and hopes her story will inspire others to get vaccinated.
Brandon said that it was a parent's worst nightmare. "I'm only doing this to spread the word to get vaccinated."
Brandon attributes her milder case to having received the Moderna vaccine. She said that her sons would be alive today if she had given them their shot.
"They wouldn’t have done it as badly. I wish I could have made them do that. It's too late now," Brandon said to News4Jax.
Brandon is now the sole survivor of all her children. David, her other son, passed away five years ago. Because she shared rent with her boys, she also needs to move.
Brandon has a GoFundMe account to pay for his funeral costs. It had raised over $19,000 as of Sunday.
