Sullivan on Maher on wokeness

Paul, a reader, sent me a segment of Andrew Sullivan's appearance on Bill Mahers last night. I added these comments:
He was the first one-on-one interviewee, and they mostly discussed Wokeism. Maher noted that this was Sullivan's 27th appearance on the program, which is the most by any guest. Maher's anti-vaxish views arose during the group discussion portion of the show. He mentions that his team was vaccinated, and that he did so because he didn't want to. He then states that he will not be receiving the booster. One of the guests was a COVID consultant for the US military. It was a pleasure to see him push back against Maher, and Maher seeming to indicate that he was not on solid ground. I think Mahers will get a lot of attention on Twitter today.

Maher praises Sullivan for his common-sense and notes that their views generally align in this short segment. Andrew's move to Substack is then discussed. Andrew admits (I don't remember this from before), that he was fired from New York Magazine. I believe it was because Sullivan was going against violence and looting by some Black Lives Matter protestors. Andrew's criticism of the pro-woke mentality of magazines (including those that include New York in their title) is quite good.

Here's Mahers monologue about smartphone disadvantages. They certainly make people more naughty and reduce the number of people reading books.
