CNN reported that a New Jersey family won $2million after buying a winning lottery ticket at rest stop while returning from vacation.

According to the report, the family was on their way from North Carolina when they stopped at a 7 Eleven in Maryland for a quick bathroom break.

Before getting on the road again, the family purchased snacks, Cash4Life and Powerball tickets during the pit stop.

According to the Maryland Lottery, the family didn't tune in to the drawing or check the numbers before this week, nearly a month after buying it from the store.

Surprised by the mother's surprise the Powerball ticket numbers matched almost all of the drawing numbers, leaving them just one number away from a major jackpot.

The agency stated that the winning mom had read the numbers from July 24 Powerball drawing and looked at her $15 ticket. "Then she saw something extraordinary," it said in the winning lottery announcement. Their Power Play quick-pick ticket matched five of the numbers in that drawing: 1, 4, 11, 5, 59 and 67. They missed the Powerball which was 10, because the ticket had an 9.

The Powerball jackpot estimated at $290 million is currently.

The family was shocked by the $2 million prize. Even the husband was thrilled to hear that they had won.

He told the Maryland Lottery that he had to examine the ticket multiple times. It's incredible that we were only off one number.

The prize was won by the couple with three children in Baltimore, Maryland. According to the agency, the family will pay off any outstanding debt and save what is left. The lottery company will give $5,000 to the 7-Eleven store where the family purchased the winning ticket.
