Los Angeles Rams without both punters for preseason game against Las Vegas Raiders

THOUSAND OAKS (Calif.) -- The Los Angeles Rams announced Saturday that they have placed Johnny Hekker, and Corey Bojorquez, punters, on the reserve/COVID-19 roster.
The Rams are now without a punter for their Week 2 preseason match against the Las Vegas Raiders at SoFi Stadium on Saturday night.

The Rams didn't immediately reveal who would be a reserve punter.

Sean McVay, Rams coach, has decided not to play starters for the fourth consecutive season. This year, he took it one step further and rested several key reserves.

Las Vegas will not be represented by Matthew Stafford, the backup quarterback, and John Wolford, the quarterback.

McVay may be able to test the fourth-down abilities of Devlin Hodges and Bryce Perkins without a punter.

Bojorquez, a fourth-year professional signed over the offseason and has been challenging four-time All Pro Hekker for this position.

Both punted twice in a 13-6 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers preseason in Week 1. Hekker averaged 45.5 yards per kick, while Bojorquez averaged 43.
