Raphinha scored six goals last season for Leeds, including two against Everton.
Raphinha saved Leeds with a brilliant curling finish that secured a point against Everton. This was Leeds' first home Premier League match with a full stadium since 17 years.
The Brazilian, who won home and away against Toffees last year, scored with 18 minutes left in a thrilling, fierce and brilliant match that was played to almost constant noise from the stands.
Leeds was behind twice. Everton took a lead in the first half with Dominic Calvert Lewin scoring a penalty via VAR. The penalty was followed by a poor finish from Demarai Gray's turn early in the second.
Mateusz Klich restored parity with a dinked end, while Raphinha secured a point each with his brilliant strike.
Leeds was the stronger side for most of the contest. They were cheered on by 36,293 supporters at every opportunity, making the most out of being together in the ground after 532 days.
However, Everton posed a threat all through the game and could have made it 3-1 if Illan Meslier hadn't made a great save to deny Calvert Lewin a second goal from close range.
This means that the home team has scored a point for the first time this season, and the Toffees are now unbeaten in two games since Rafael Benitez took over as manager.
A game that is fit for a full house
Are all football matches possible to be as similar?
It was everything you could want - great goals and fierce tackles, battles inside a battles, twists & turns all played out in front of a loud crowd, who were eager to see them return to the stadium.
It was loud prior to kick-off, and it stayed that way through the match. Each Leeds goal was met with an ear-splitting joy.
Fans of the Whites were definitely put through the ringer upon their return.
The referee Darren England decided to check his pitchside monitor after the match and found that Liam Cooper had in fact held Calvert-Lewin in his box.
After Klich's equaliser gave them renewed optimism, Gray's finish dealt them a further hammer blow - an impressive bit of skill that summarised the winger’s impressive performance.
There were some tense moments at 2-1. Everton threatened to pull away like Manchester United did the previous weekend. But Leeds rallied and earned their point from Raphinha’s moment of magic.
Patrick Bamford - who was involved in a running fight with defender Yerry mina - had a chance to win the game for Leeds but he failed to convert. This relief came much to the relief of the Elland Road roof.
Everton will regret not having held on for a second consecutive win but will be happy with a display that showed what Benitez wants with the team.
They'll have problems with their speed and dynamism of attack - Calvert Lewin is the focal point from which a host lively forwards dart and dash in intent.
