Celtic signed Josip Juranovic, a Croatian international full-back from Legia Warsaw, for an undisclosed amount.

After international clearance has been granted, the 26-year old will sign a five year contract.

Juranovic is now manager Ange Postecoglou’s eighth summer transfer window signing.

The Celtic boss stated that there are many challenges ahead and Josip would add valuable quality and depth.

"Everyone at the club has worked hard to increase our squad, and we have made good strides," he said. Josip is coming in to support the other boys.

Celtic reported that Juranovic was paid 2.5m by an external link. He started his career in Hajduk Split, his homeland, before moving to Legia Warsaw last year.

Between last season and the start of the campaign, he made 41 appearances for Poland's side. He scored 10 assists and two goals. The latest was Thursday's 2-2 draw against Slavia Prague in Europa League qualifying.

Juranovic has 10 caps for Croatia, and was a featured player at the Euros this year. He will be competing at right-back against Anthony Ralston who has been first choice for Celtic this season.
