Wyndham Rewards' latest promotion is on purchased points. The program has not sold points in the past, but this trend has changed in recent months.

Wyndham points up to 25% off

Wyndham Rewards offers a 25% discount for points purchased through Wednesday, August 25, 2021

As long as you buy at least 5,000 points in a single transaction, you can get a 25% discount

Each calendar year, you can buy up to 45,000 points

Points can be purchased in increments of 1,000 at 1.3 cents each point.

Within 72 hours of a purchase eligible, points will be posted

This promotion allows you to purchase up to 45,000 Wyndham Rewards points for $438.75. That's a rate at 0.975 cents per Wyndham reward point.

Wyndham Rewards offers a promotion on points purchased. Typically, we see a 30%-40% bonus or 25% discount. This promotion follows those.

Wyndham Rewards Points Redeemable

There are three levels of Wyndham Rewards points when it comes to redeeming Wyndham Points:

A third of properties are priced at 7,500 points per night

The majority of properties are priced at 15,000 points per evening

A few hundred hotels are available at 30,000 points per night

It's almost like you are paying for a Wyndham point at 0.975 cents each

A night in an entry-level property costs $73

A night in a mid-range property costs $146

For a night in a luxury property, it costs $292

Although there are exceptions, I think the cases where buying points works out to be very rare. The best value is found in situations where you only need a few thousand points to be able to purchase an award stay.

Which Wyndham point credit card should I use?

Wyndham Rewards points can be purchased by points.com. They are not considered hotel purchases for credit card purposes.

So I recommend that you use a card with a minimum amount of spending. If possible, choose a credit card that maximizes the return on your everyday spending.

For more information on the best credit cards for buying points, see this post.

Bottom line

Wyndham Rewards offers a 25% discount on points purchased, giving you the chance to purchase points for less than one cent. Although I wouldn't recommend buying Wyndham Rewards points at this price, it might be worth the risk.

Wyndham Rewards members, is there any property you can receive a significant value with this promotion?
