Bill Russell, Boston Celtics legend, is selling his home in Mercer Island (Washington) after 50 years.
Russell, the NBA's most decorated player, was a Seattle resident for almost 50 years. He won 11 championships in his 13 seasons.
According to Puget Sound Business Journal, the 4,250-square-foot home will include valuable relics of the Hall-of-Famer’s career.
Russell stated to the Business Journal, "I have left behind my trophy box and an autographed baseball for the next owners. I hope they enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the home over the past almost 50 years."
Russell and Jeannine plan to remain in the area. However, Russell admitted that he would "miss the privacy and peaceful tranquility of the lake and most importantly [his] hot tub."
He announced this auction just weeks ago, when he had already announced the sale of all of his NBA memorabilia.
