Android phone deals August 2021: free Galaxy S21, $99 Pixel 2 XL & more

It doesn't need to cost a lot to get a new phone. Although there are always great deals on Android phones, they can be hard to find. It's easier than ever to find a good deal on the latest Android phones.
There are two types of deals available when buying a new smartphone. There are two options: You can buy your phone unlocked and bring it to any carrier that supports it, or you can get a device through a carrier deal at a retailer like Verizon or T-Mobile.

Carrier deals typically require you to pay monthly installments for the device and add a line for service. This means that the device and your service contract will be locked in for several years. These deals are great if your plan is to change carriers. However, if you don’t wish to switch, you should stick with unlocked devices.

What should you spend on your phone?

There are two options for buying a phone: either directly or through your carrier. There are a few other ways you can finance it, but we will concentrate on the first two.

Unlocked phones cost more upfront than monthly, but you get less in your phone bill. This is because a phone purchased through a carrier's network will be amortized over its term, which can usually range from 18 to 24 monthly.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are a little more difficult because companies play with prices in ways that they wouldn't normally during the rest of the year. Although phones are on sale in March, August and September, November is when the prices start to drop.

Another thing to remember is that while the Galaxy Note 20 Ultras will have the highest percentage of discounts, they are still far more expensive that the mid-range phones that offer nearly the same experience for half the price.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday are great times to buy a phone from your carrier. They're more open to negotiating or making exceptions to your monthly plan pricing in return for getting you a new phone. Many carriers are open to new signups. If you're willing and able to switch providers, you could get at least one or two free smartphones.
