Thursday night, Elon Musk announced that his company,, has created a humanoid robotics robot. Musk expects that a prototype will be available by 2022.
He didn't mention a price or where the robot would be made -- but it will have a screen with useful information that is comparable to a human face and be available for purchase.
During Teslas AI Day, he stated that "it's basically going be starting to deal with work which is boring repetitive and dangerous." He said, "What would people least like to do?"
Musk believes that physical labor will eventually be an option. His robot will have a profound effect on the economy, and universal basic income will become necessary.

Musk's latest move is to disrupt the labor force. His past work has also affected the space and auto industries. If history is any guide, however, the humanoid robot might be delayed until 2022 for consumers who are interested. After Musk's 2019 promise that the Cybertruck would be available by 2021, production of Tesla's Cybertruck was halted for now.
Recently, his AI programming has come under fire. American safety regulators opened an official safety probe into Tesla's Autopilot program last Monday after a series of accidents involving emergency vehicles. Monday's announcement by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), emphasized that it had found 11 incidents in which Tesla vehicles were involved in first responder scenes. The probe was initiated after the agency discovered one or more of those vehicles being involved in these scenes.
It stated that there were 17 injuries in those cases and one death.
