Sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Dallas Mavericks have hired Kristi Toliver, a two-time WNBA champion, as their assistant coach.

Toliver has previous NBA coaching experience. She was an assistant to the Washington Wizards' team for parts of two seasons.

Toliver currently plays for the Los Angeles Sparks, where she is contracted through the 2022 season. She wouldn't be affected by a coaching job in the NBA.

Toliver was a part the Washington Mystics' 2019 title team and helped lead the Sparks towards the 2016 WNBA championship. This season, she averages 9.5 points per game for the Sparks.
