Terry Rozier agrees to four-year, $97 million extension with Charlotte Hornets, source says

Terry Rozier has signed a four-year extension worth $97 million with the Charlotte Hornets, according to ESPN.
Rozier was the Hornets' top scorer last season. He averaged 20.4 points per game on 45% field shooting and 38.9% from 3.

Rozier's career-bests included 4.2 assists, 1.3 steals and matching his career record with 4.4 rebound per game.

Rozier and Gordon Hayward, a veteran, are part of the core team, as is a talented group including LaMelo ball, Miles Bridges, and P.J. Washington In free agency, the Hornets added UConn's James Bouknight and UConn guard-forward Kelly Oubre Jr.

This month, the Hornets agreed to a multiyear extension of their contract with James Borrego, head coach. He led them to a record of 33-39 and a 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. In the play-in, Charlotte fell to the Indiana Pacers.

Charlotte was a 4-seed in Eastern Conference, before Hayward, Bridges and Ball were injured for long periods.
