Google Pixel 6: The best Samsung phone of 2021?

It looks like Samsung will make the main camera sensor for the Google Pixel 6 series. Recent code digging in the Android 12 beta Google app camera app revealed references to the Samsung ISOCELL GN1. This would be the largest sensor that we have seen in a Pixel, making it easier to take sharp, clear shots in low-light scenes and feed more data to Google’s HDR+ algorithms.
The GN1 would not be the only one if this is true. It looks like there will be a lot more Samsung in Google's next flagship phones, with the announcements that Samsung will make Google's Tensor processor and the fact that the Pixel 6 will have a Samsung Exynos5G modem. Some speculate that the Pixel 6 could be a Samsung flagship phone with Google branding.

A lot of the components of the Pixel 6 will likely have been made in a Samsung factory.

Apart from the SoC (including modem and camera sensor), there is a good chance that the RAM, internal storage and display in your future Pixel 6 were also made in a Samsung factory. Samsung is a major player in all three areas. Early leaks from Jon Prosser's FrontPageTech indicate that the smaller Pixel 6 will have an AMOLED display. This acronym refers specifically to Samsung's display technology. Strategy Analytics reports that Samsung claimed 42% of the global smartphone memory industry in the first quarter 2021. Samsung has a 50% profit share on smartphone displays, and 29% profit share on smartphone image sensors. This is second only to Sony.

Even if the Samsung logo is not on your phone's back, you may find components from Samsung in it. Samsung Display is the market leader in OLED phone screens.
