Since 2009, Harry Kane is at Tottenham
Tottenham striker Harry Kane will not be in the squad against Manchester City for their Premier League opener.
Kane's move to City has been strongly linked, with Pep Guardiola, City manager, having previously expressed his interest in signing Kane.
Kane, who was on Friday training with the Spurs team for the first time since returning home from holiday, made it clear that he would like to leave the club he had joined as a schoolboy.
He returned from holiday late and was placed in quarantine for five days.
This striker was part Gareth Southgate’s England squad that reached the final of Euro 2020 last week.
He needs to continue working on his fitness, having returned late from holiday. "He needs to continue working until he is ready to help us," Nuno Espirito Santo, Spurs boss, told Sky Sports.
He doesn't need to go to too many sessions. He must be fit."
Nuno answered a question about whether he would attend the game. He said that he had worked all morning. "I don't know what [he] is going to do now."
