Gerd Müller, a legend in Germany and Bayern Munich, has passed away at 75.
In 62 appearances, he scored 68 goals for West Germany. He also scored the winning goal in the 1974 World Cup final against Netherlands in Munich.
Muller, affectionately called 'Der Bomber,' was originally a member of Bayern in 1964. He won the Intercontinental Cup and three European Cups, a European Cup Winners Cup and a European Cup Winners Cup. He also won the Bundesliga Cup and DFB Cup four more times.

Muller was awarded the Golden Boot for scoring 10 goals in the 1970 World Cup. He also scored a record number of goals in 427 Bundesliga matches and 66 goals during 74 European matches in his 15 years with Bayern.
He also held the record of scoring the most goals per calendar year, having scored 85 goals from 1972 to Lionel Messi's total in 2012.
Bayern, his wife Uschi, and Nicole announced that Muller had been diagnosed as having Alzheimer's disease shortly before his 70th Birthday in 2015.
Bayern Munich, his former club, announced the news via their official Twitter account: "Today, the world of FC Bayern remains still."
"The German record-holders and all his fans mourn Gerd Müller's passing at 75," said Gerd Muller.

Herbert Hainer, Bayern president, stated to the club website that today was a dark day for FC Bayern and all its fans.
