Larry David's enthusiasm was apparently too much for former President Barack Obama when he was removed from the guest list at Obama's 60th birthday celebration on Martha's Vineyard last Wednesday.

David's exuberance over being uninvited was mostly due to the fact that he originally feared he would be expected to perform at this event. This was later reduced because of concerns about the Delta Coronavirus variant. David wrote to Maureen Dowd of The New York Times, stating that he had struggled to find a standup routine since Obama's assistant sent him the invitation. David shared his feelings with Dowd, saying that he was feeling glum after calling back Obama's assistant.
