Gavin Newsom (Democratic California governor) could lose his position in recall elections scheduled for September 14. He criticized Larry Elder, talk-radio host and Republican frontrunner, as a fringe candidate that is more right-leaning than former President Donald Trump.
Newsom warned about the political damage Elder could inflict upon the Democrats' policy priorities at both the federal and state levels with gubernatorial power.

The current governor has asked Democratic citizens to complete the recall ballot selectively. It will be distributed next week and leave blank the section asking voters for Newsom's replacement. Newsom is being challenged by 46 GOP candidates, Elder being the favourite in polls.
Just vote no. The other part doesn't even need to be touched. It doesn't matter what the other part looks like. Dont even touch it. It's a simple no. This is the simplest ballot you have ever had to complete. Just vote no. Newsom also added "No" to the recall.
SurveyUSA recently found that 51% of likely voters (those who intend to vote in the recall election) would vote Yes to remove the incumbent governor. Only 40% of those polled said they would vote No to keep Newsom.
With 27 percent of the vote, Kevin Paffrath (a YouTuber, real estate broker) is currently ahead of Elder. Elder received 23 percent of the replacement vote, but he has the highest support from Republican voters of all 45 candidates.
Elder repeatedly criticised Newsom's mismanagement of pandemic, specifically his long lockdowns, severe COVID restrictions, which strangled businesses, Californians, their livelihoods, and stifled Californians. If elected, Elder said he would invalidate all mandates for vaccines and masks in California.

Elder stated that the man I will be defeating on September 14th, he had shut down the state in a more severe manner than any of the 49 governors. He made this statement during a speech at San Jose's church, Fox News reported. If there are any vaccine mandates or facemask mandates left, I will repeal them immediately and Ill have breakfast.
He said, "I know how hard it is to manage a business." Many fail. Many of those who succeed often have very small profit margins. This is often due to the fact that they often move from one payroll to another. Because [Newsom] ignored science, a third of small businesses in California have been destroyed forever.
