Nicki Minaj and husband Kenneth Petty offered $500,000 to his sexual assault victim to recant her allegations, alleges new lawsuit

The couple are now being sued by the victim for harassing her and inducing her to deny the allegations.

According to the woman, Minaj offered her $500,000 for her to retract her story.

Nicki Minaj, the rap superstar, and Kenneth Petty are being sued for harassment of a woman he allegedly sexually assaulted in 1994. The victim claims that the couple tried to convince her to retract her accusations.

After pleading guilty, Petty was sentenced to four-and-a half years for attempted rape.

The victim, now 43 years old, filed a lawsuit against the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of New York claiming that the couple harassed her and intimidated to get her to rescind her story.

According to TMZ the suit alleges that the victim and her family began receiving communications from intermediaries after Petty was arrested last January for not being registered as a sex ofender in California.

If the woman would retract the allegations, her family and friends were offered money. According to the lawsuit, at one point, $20,000 and then $500,000 were suggested. Minaj offered to send the victim's 16th birthday video "as a bonus."

According to court papers, Minaj called the victim last January and invited her family and friends to Los Angeles to "help her out."

She also offered to have her publicist write a statement in her place to tell her story.

The victim claimed she had rejected all the inducements. She and her family received a "onslaught" of harassing phone calls and unsolicited visits from people she suspected to be related to the couple.

According to the lawsuit, Minaj told the victim, "I need to know woman to women, that this happened."

According to court papers, the woman stated that she lives in isolation because of fear of retaliation and that she has not worked since May 2020. This was due to "severe depression, paranoia and constant moving," harassment, threats and threats by the defendants and their associates.

Unspecified damages are sought in the lawsuit. Insider reached Minaj's legal team for clarification and is still waiting for a response.

According to court papers, the woman asserts that she was raped at knifepoint by Petty in 1994 while attending school.

According to the victim, Petty knew her from her neighborhood. He led her to a nearby house where he assaulted and beat her.

According to The New York Times, the victim claimed that she was subject to harassment and retaliation while her case was being prosecuted.

Nicki Minaj is in a relationship since 2018 with Kenneth Petty. They share an 11-month old son.
