A Clubhouse influencer with more than 120,000 followers died less than 2 weeks after being hospitalized in LA with COVID-19

He was surrounded by his family and passed as peacefully as he could.Yu was not vaccinated against this virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data showed that only half of the US population was fully vaccinated against COVID-19.Yu-Meier posted daily updates on Yu's health on the site. It was created by Yu-Meier on July 31st to raise funds for Yu's medical care. The fund has grown to more than $135,000 and the highest donation was $25,000.According to his sister's posting, Yu, who had over 120,000 Clubhouse followers, was taken to the hospital on August 1. According to his sister's post, Yu was taken to an intensive care unit. He was then transferred to an ECMO machine. This machine pumps blood outside of the body to oxygenate it. It replaces the role of the heart or lungs.Nine days later Yu-Meier stated that his lungs had taken a "turn for the worse" and that there were further complications.Yu died Tuesday. She wrote in a blog post, "I am at a loss for words as my heart is broken in this moment but we wanted everyone to know."Yu is the cofounder and chief growth officer of Talk Nerdy to Me Clubhouse, which now has over 246,000 members.
