NFL suspends RB Derrius Guice 6 games for violating personal conduct policy

ASHBURN (Va.) -- Derrius Guice, former Washington Football Team running back, was suspended for six matches for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. According to a league spokesman.Guice was taken into custody in Loudoun County in Virginia last August. He was charged with one count each of strangulation, assault and battery and two counts of battery. These charges stem from three domestic violence incidents that Guice had with his then-girlfriend in early 2020. Guice was also charged with strangulation after he allegedly pushed the woman down on three occasions.Washington released Guice just two hours after his arrest. Since then, Guice has not played in any NFL games.Buta Biberaj, Commonwealth's Attorney, dropped the strangulation charge against Guice in January. After a settlement with the woman, all other charges were dropped. Guice could face jail time if convicted.Two women accused Guice in 2016 of sexual assault. He was a freshman at LSU. In 2016, a third LSU student claimed that Guice had taken partially nude photos of her and shared them with his teammates. Guice denied all allegations.Washington selected Guice during the second round in 2018. Multiple sources claim that there were concerns about Guice's character at the draft. Some teams, including Carolina, which was then coached by Ron Rivera, removed him from their boards.Guice missed his entire rookie season due to a torn ACL during training camp. In 2019, Guice missed 11 games due to a knee injury.
