The Lamborghini Countach, the poster car of '80s luxury, is back ' and it's a hybrid

Lamborghini's Countach supercar was unveiled at Pebble Beach this week. It is, as expected, rocking a lot of lightning under the hood. The limited edition supercar is named the Countach LPI 8004, where LPI stands for Longitudinale Posteriore Ibrido or Longitudinal Posterior Hybrid. 800 refers to the rounding down 814cv maximum combined horsepower; while 4 refers to the permanent four-wheel drive transmission. In honor of the 50th anniversary, the automaker will release the revamped version. The Countach's resurrected V12 engine will be paired with a 48V electric engine. This will allow the supercar to keep its familiar engine sound while still receiving some power from electrons. The thermal unit will produce 780cv, which is a unit of horsepower equivalent to 574kW. The e-motor will produce 34cv. This produces a speed of 355km/h, a time of 0100km/h of 2.8 seconds and 8.6 seconds respectively.Grid View Photo: LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniPhoto by LamborghiniThe Countachs hybrid system doesn't have any new technology. It is based on Lamborghinis Sin supercapacitor technology. This system, Lamborghini claims, has three times the power of a standard lithium-ion battery. It does not include the hybrid and pure-electric vehicle system that Lamborghini is currently developing. These systems will be the foundation of Lamborghinis next generation hybrids and electric vehicles, due to be released later in the decade. The patriarch of super-sport car designLamborghini refers to the Countach as the patriarch of super-sports car design. Indeed, its unique wedge shape and villainous lines were a cultural icon for many who grew up in the 1970s and 1980s. You probably knew someone who had one. If you ever dreamed of becoming a millionaire and owning a mansion, the image likely featured a Countach in your 5-car garage. The new Countach is a tribute to its predecessor but not retrospectively, Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini CEO, stated in a statement. It continues to uphold the Lamborghini tradition, which is to look forward and explore new design and technological avenues while still celebrating our brand's DNA.The revived Countach doesn't look as sharp as its predecessor, but it has a more round nose and a less imposing rear. The spoiler is gone and the airscoops have been integrated into the shoulders of Lamborghini's classic supercar.Lamborghini did an admirable job updating the lookCarbon fiber is used in the chassis and body panels of the Countach LPI 8004 to give it a dry weight of 1,595kg (3.516lbs) and a power to weight ratio of 1.95kg/cv. Carbon fiber can also be found in the interior, including the front splitter, the side-view mirrors and engine bonnet cover intakes. Lamborghini used #D printing to create movable air vents, and a photochromatic roofing that can change from transparent to solid at the touch of one button. The car's controls are managed by an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay is compatible with the operating system. However, it isn't the most important thing if you have enough money to buy a car. This is all about having fun in the Italian countryside. These images may be the closest we get to this car, but then again, they are unlikely to be accurate. Lamborghini will only make 112 units. This is a reference the LP 112 internal project number used during the original Lamborghini Countachs design. Lamborghini will start deliveries in the first quarter 2022. It's probably for the best, my blood pressure is not strong enough to handle it.
