Veteran NFL running back Dion Lewis to announce retirement, source says

A source said that Dion Lewis, an NFL veteran running back, will be retiring from the NFL after playing in eight NFL seasons and winning a Super Bowl with New England Patriots.A source said that Lewis, who was a New York Giants player last season, was being considered by other teams as recently last week.Lewis, at 5'8", was a third-down back for most of his career. He gained 3,833 yards and 22 touchdowns from scrimmage over his entire career. He was a member of the New England Super Bowl team in 2016 and 2017, winning a title in 2016. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Tennessee Titans.He ran 29 times for 115 yards and caught 19 passes for 127 yards last season with the Giants, scoring three touchdowns.Lewis will be 31 years old in September. He was still recovering from a broken leg and he did not participate in the 2013 or 2014 seasons.
