James Spears, his daughter's conservator, finally resigned Thursday after months of public pressure. In a court filing, James Spears' legal team stated that Mr. Spears would be willing to step down at any time. However, the transition must be orderly and include resolution of all matters pending before Court. "Mr. Spears will work with the Court, his daughter's attorney and prepare for an orderly transition.According to the filing, there was no reason for James Spears to be suspended or removed. It is also highly debatable if Ms. Spears would benefit from a change of conservator. There was no timeline for the changes.Britney Spears has been in conservatorship for 13 year, but the pop star has been asking for an end of the arrangement. Mathew Rosengart started representing the singer last month. Britney Spears' new lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, filed a petition in July to replace her father, Jason Rubin, a certified accountant, as sole conservator.Certified Strategies is Rubin's principal. The firm has extensive experience in elder financial abuse investigation, estate financial management and securities litigation."We are happy that Mr. Spears' lawyer and himself have agreed in a filed that he must be expelled. Britney is rewarded by this settlement. "We are disappointed by their continuing shameful and reprehensible attack on Ms. Spears, and other people," Rosengart said in a statement.Rosengart's statement suggested that the legal battle between them isn't over.Rosengart stated that they look forward "to continuing our vigorous inquiry into the conduct of Mr. Spears and others over the past thirteen years while he reaped millionaires from his daughter's estate", and that he would be taking Mr. Spears’s sworn testimony in the near future."The assets of the singer are worth more than $50,000,000. She has made numerous allegations of abuse against her father, alleging that he used the arrangement to gain personal gains. These accusations have been denied by James Spears. This is breaking news, please keep checking back for more.
