Denis Villeneuve's Dune will be a film of immense scale. But, it seems like even our wildest dreams about how large it might be may be exaggerating its potential. This movie will be epic, sweeping, and regal. Even its book making will feature a Hans Zimmer score. It's true.Advertisementio9 exclusively reveals that Dune's Oscar-winning composer was inspired by Insight Editions' upcoming Behind-the-scenes book. He decided to compose musical accompaniment. Tanya Lapointe is the film's executive producer. The book, entitled "The Art and Soul of Dune", will include a Zimmer score that can be downloaded and streamed. It will also be released on the same day as the film's debut, October 22. We now have your first glimpse at the book. Here's the complete cover for the standard edition. The standard edition is $50, features the same detailed information on the making and completion of the film (including interviews not only with Villeneuve but also stars Timothe Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson), but the limited edition goes far beyond. It is therefore more expensive than the standard edition (retail price just below $600). Here's the deal:This is what it buys: 700 copies of the full edition are signed and numbered by Villeneuve and author Lapointe, along with stars Chalamet, Josh Brolin and Greig Fraser, the director of photography. The cover is also cloth and foil-stamped with Harkonnen symbols and Atreides. An extra companion volume features exclusive on-set photography from Fraser and commentary from Brolin. It is designed, printed and bound in a manner that reflects the aesthetics and style of the film. The whole thing comes in a large clamshell, wrapped in saifu fabric with copper-stamped bespoke imagery that was inspired by the Bene Gesserit design. Both editions are Hans Zimmer-worthy. However, the limited edition feels more like something from the world of Dune, while the standard edition is simple and Earth-bound. These are some exclusive photos of the inside and details Lapointe goes into.AdvertisementAdvertisementPre-order the standard edition now.
