This is a huge benefit for both the program and these cards. The option to transfer to American AAdvantage at this time is not available. You will earn 80,000 bonus point after spending $4,000 within the first three months.This temporary addition to AAAdvantage transfers will push me to apply for the card. American had a last co-brand agreement with Citibank and Barclays. Mileage transfers for Citi ThankYou Rewards were available, along with the possibility of taking the entire cobrand relationship. Citi would not pay the premium American requested. These deals are being renegotiated so there may be a change of opinion on all sides.Bilt Rewards is a loyalty program that allows you to earn points for paying rent and has its own credit card. It also offers points transfer to American, so it's even more obvious that Citis doesnt consider them the largest American brand partner.Citi has a lot of great transfer partners, including Qatars Privilege Club. This is a unique program that is especially appealing for QSuites redemptions. Turkish Airlines offers 48-hour award holds. You can then lock in an award before you transfer points. First class to the Caribbean and Hawaii are just 12,500 miles each way on United. Europe has 45,000 miles for business class and India 52,500 (plus fuel surcharges). EVA Airways is a great program that's often overlooked.Citi is seen as less of a transfer partner than Chase Ultimate Rewards, which has United and Southwest, and American Express (which includes Delta), due to the fact that it does not have one of the major US airlines. American AAdvantage is the program that I have used the most miles in over the years to redeem premium cabin awards on Cathay Pacific, Qantas, Japan Airlines, British Airways, Etihad and Qatar.
